Scholarship

Students are invited to interview based on entering academic standing. Each applicant must be an outstanding student with a GPA between 3.9 and 4.0.  They must demonstrate leadership through school and   community  service.   All applicants will be interviewed by a College of Nursing associate dean and a college faculty committee.  Funding will be awarded upon admission to the College in June of 2008.

Arkansas Graduate Nursing Education Student Loan and Scholarship Program Loan / Scholarship UAMS Master's and Doctoral Nursing Students only Students who receive graduate nursing loans during graduate school may have these loans converted to scholarship grant by practicing full time as a primary care nurse practitioner in a community in Arkansas, by teaching in an Arkansas nursing school, by employment as a nurse administrator in a complex Arkansas health care agency, or by working for the AR Dept. of Health. Altrusa International Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship

Scholarships may be awarded to residents of Pulaski County, Arkansas
who are entering or continuing in any educational program in an institution
certified by the State of Arkansas including colleges, universities, vocational
schools and any other recognized post-high school program of study. Goals of
the scholarship are to provide financial assistance to students who may not be

Eligibility requirements:

The Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association scholarship application for 2005-2006 is now available on-line at http://www.nsna.org/ (Click on Foundation.    Scholarship amounts range from $1,000.00 to $2,500.00 and can be used only for tuition, books, and academic fees.

Nursing school students can receive scholarships to pay for their tuition and fees, as well as a $1,200/ month stipend. Upon graduation, these nurses must work full-time in a facility deemed to have a critical shortage of nurses - for at least 2 years (some will have a longer service commitment.

NLN Foundation Minority Faculty Preparation Scholarship Scholarship

Eligible candidates include men and women who are of African American, Hispanic, Native American, Native Alaskan, Arab or Asian decent; Caucasian men are also eligible. Application packets will be evaluated with a focus on the following criteria:

The NLN Foundation Minority Faculty Preparation Scholarship has been created to provide financial support to students in graduate nursing education programs who identify as underrepresented minorities and are preparing for the nurse faculty role. 1) Borrower must currently be in repayment of Federal Stafford Student Loans.
2) Borrower must be an educator holding a valid Arkansas certification or a nursing professional holding a valid Arkansas L.P.N or R.N. license.
3) Borrower must be a full-time educator in an Arkansas public or private school working with grades K-12 or full time nursing professional in an Arkansas health care facility.
4) Loans must be originated by ASLA (or an ASLA participating lender) and serviced by ASLA's contracted loan servicer, EdFinancial Services.
5) Borrower must have an outstanding Federal Stafford Student Loan disbursed after June 30, 1998 for the Teacher Edloan and disbursed after July 1, 2005 for the Nursing Edloan.
6) PLUS and consolidation loans are not eligible.
To encourage students to choose a career in education or nursing.
